Offline access on this device

Use only on your own device. These options start enabled on first setup for convenient offline use. Turn them off on shared devices. Reopening requires your six-digit PIN or an explicit Journal password unlock. Lock keeps saved encrypted work and clears unlocked memory.

A verified online session after unlock renews the 30-day offline period. Offline use alone does not extend it.

Private entries, photos and edit history are encrypted in storage. With server-managed encryption, the server can decrypt this content. Your device encrypts its offline copy. Account details and access metadata remain visible to the server. Readable exports are created only when you request them.

Save your recovery key

This key unlocks your encrypted journal if you forget the journal password. Keep it somewhere private outside this website. The site owner can also restore access using the protected recovery key registered during the v1.1.5 upgrade.

Allow emergency access?

Allowing access lets this person decrypt your entries, pictures and edit history. Copies already downloaded cannot be recalled. You can revoke this optional viewer access under Account. Protected administrator password recovery is separate.
